Current Sermon Series Developing A Faith that Works
New Sunday Morning Series
If you have ever watched a marathon, you know a lot of people start out but don't finish at the end. That's a parallel to the Christian life. Many people start out well in the Christian life but somewhere along the line they get waylaid, sidetracked, run out of gas, or just get confused. The faith they started with isn't working anymore...or at least they don't think it is.
Adding to the challenge of living a faith-filled life is a culture that constantly says, "It doesn't matter how you live as long as you're a good person" AND "It really doesn't matter what you believe as long as I believe in something" OR "as long as your belief helps you that's all that matters."
We live in a day in which we all have definite beliefs about things, but it seems the "act of belief" is the object of our faith instead of faith in God. That kind of faith doesn't work! "...Be sure that your faith is in God alone! Do not waiver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind." James 1:6, 7) NLT
